Flickering Lights & Other Weird Phenomena
Flickering Lights & Other Weird Phenomena After my aunt began to spend more and more time in Maui with her daughter, she thought she needed to remodel parts of the house. I believe she was making it ready to sell, and she wanted control over how she left it. She had already completed the backyard, I helped a little, and it all looked great! We did several projects, including some work in the kitchen, pulling wallpaper, painting, and other things. Then her bathroom came next. She was in Maui, so my husband and I went to Alameda so he could pull the sink and replace it with a shiny new black, pedestal one, which she picked out. She also picked out unusual art deco mirror and other interesting details. During this time, we also pulled wallpaper and painted. She picked everything before she left and gave instructions as to how it would look.
I have stayed, with and without her, many, many days, and nights at my aunt’s house. When we were doing the kitchen we experienced many odd occurrences, and my aunt remarked she felt something there. We speculated on my mom or Uncle Joe or something coming through. However, while we were working each night during the bathroom project, we experienced several interesting events. First, the lights flickered, and the TV went on and off. Then one afternoon, the light bulb in the bathroom broke into a million pieces. Robert was in their working on the plumbing, and he shot out of there like a flash. We cleaned up the bathroom and went to the store for a new bulb and when we got back, there was water on the new sink. I thought maybe the water dripped from the new sink. Robert told me that the water was off in the bathroom, and I looked, and it wasn’t in the sink, but a puddle about 6 inches in diameter was on the shiny black, flat surfaced edge of the sink. I asked him if he perhaps left a glass sitting there and he looked at me and said, what glass? There was nothing there and he reminded me he had just dusted and vacuumed the whole bathroom after the light blew. That night as we told Aunt Lily what had happened, she didn’t skip a beat. Well, that has to be your uncle Joe, he never liked me spending money on the house!
