I Remember My Own Birth Vividly

I Remember my Own Birth Vividly My consciousness was hovering over my mother as she lay in a room with green tile on the floor, walls, and ceilings. She seemed elevated, at least in my memory and she was covered with white sheets, her long black hair draped everywhere. As I hovered above her a nurse came in dressed in a crisp, white dress, wearing a starched, stiff nurses’ hat. She brought a baby to her and opened the blanket for her to see. My mother said to the nurse and the baby: “That can’t be my baby, that’s the ugliest baby I ever seen!” My consciousness affirmed: “This is the perfect body for my next life, and I allowed myself to be united with it.”

I told this story to my mother and my aunt Lily when I was 8 years old. They were at the kitchen table having coffee and “girl talk,” and I wanted to join in the discussion. Mom and my aunt went pale as they sat in stunned silence. Then a flurry of “You can’t remember that…etc., and other expressions of fear laced with shock. I was sent outside to play among whispers of, “How’d she know that!” Mom told me later that I was spot on, but didn’t wish to discuss, I think it scared her.

She did tell me that I was beat red, wrinkled and my ear was bent over and made me look deformed. Of course, within a day, I turned pink, my skin filled out and I was adorable. She named me Shirley for Shirley Temple, one of her favorite stars, who had just gotten married. She was quite the romantic…

*Case studies in hypnotherapy show that the soul embeds in the fetus between the 3rd month and birth. Thanes agrees with this timeline. Obviously, this picture of the baby is not me, just an illustration.
